File info > Basic > Document title - text is partially hidden

Hi all

 

I need to enter Document Titles for accessibility.

It was viewing just fine on my first few documents, but is now partially hidden (it's moved upwards somehow) as per screenshot.

 

I've reset preferences with no effect.

 

Any clues? Thanks!

    I have seen this dialog box window move around, too, and never had it so bad I couldn't see the field content, so my only rough guess is to reset InDesign and see if the problem improves. There are 4 nuanced levels of resetting preferences, so perhaps you should try a slightly different reset method.

    Same here. For each doc, the content in the field has been steadily moving upward over the last 6 months. It's now completely out of the field of vision (as mickh mentions below).

      Hi @david24256870o6nb,

       

      Thanks for bringing this up, and I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with the document title text being hidden.

       

      Could you please let me know the version of InDesign you're currently using and your operating system details? If you're not on the latest version of InDesign, I recommend updating it, as that might resolve this display issue.

      In the meantime, if the problem persists after updating, pleas let us know.

      Thanks, Abhishek. Mac OS Sonoma 14.6. InDesign 19.5. I can't update yet due to in-house administrative limitations.

      Further to this, I can copy text into the Document Title field, but it's invisible and unable to be selected - yet is definitely in there as it reveals itself in the exported pdf.

      I have seen this behaviour in dialogues in other programs on MacOS. Often this is because there is a return or a line break in the text. Is that the case here? If you use the cursor keys to get to the end of the title and keep pressing do you go to a new line? If so, delete the line break.
