Fixed parent content across multiple page sizes

I have an InDesign document with multiple page sizes and I want the content in my uber parent page to remain in the slug across my other sub-parent pages (of different page sizes). This way I can update the slug on one page and it updates across all parent pages. Only problem is getting it to remain fixed to the bottom of the page (within the slug).

I'm aware of this thread but am not good with scripts. I can import and run them but would need someone to explain how to use it. Possible to do this without a script? If not, would appreciate some scripting support.

Have you considered Edit > Place and Link?

Hi @HenryErdman:

I like @Mike Witherell's suggetion of  Place and Link as per @for longer text, but I'm unclear if you are referring to a footer? You can define text variable and add it to all the pages. If you update the definition, it will update everywhere. Caveat: a variable must fit on a single line.

But slug is not part of the page?

Ah, yes. It's early here. [insert coffee emoji here]  Variables do work on the pasteboard—if the content is limited to a single line.

This Help file explains the way Edit > Place and Link works:

If you place any object in a way that it overlaps with the edge of the page of the MasterSpread - it will be treated as part of the page - and displayed on regular pages.
