Font conflict - same font with different name in same machine

I have a Type 1 font in my machine with two names having same functionality. Is there any way to identify the duplicate font identification of same font by running a preflight or any script.

How to identify if the font having more than one occurance in a machine.

It would be better to suggest the font name with different name for same font.
