Font Dropdown Menu Stays Open in InDesign 2025 (Version 20.0)

Hi,

In InD 2025 verison 20.0, the font drop down menu opens and stays open when changing fonts, and when performing random tasks such as exporting a PDF.

I've attached a screenshot of what I'm getting.

Any ideas how to stop this, or of this is a bug?

Hi Leo,

I'm not sure. This is literally the first time I've opened InDesign since upgrading to version 2025 20.0. I'm not sure if the preferences woulld have been corrupt after just being installed, but it's worth a shot.

Preferences can corrupt at any time

Honestly never happened to me in 25 years of using InDesign I've never had to reset the preferences.

But sometimes an install can go bad, or a preference isn't loaded correctly, or the cache is not cleared properly.

Things don't always go smoothly on installs, upgrades, updates or maybe another service interrupted the install process, like anti-virus, VPN, firewall or another 3rd party app.

Resetting your preferences could resolve your issue.
