Font menu keeps crashing *HELP*

Hello! I have a really big problem. I just cant choose a font in my font menu in InDesign without crashing the font menu. It just stays there, I cant do anything. Normally, the font menu closes after I´ve choosen a font. But this doesnt happen since months. 

 

I am working with an iMac, Late 2015 and updated on macOS Catalina. I´ve had this problem also with high sierra and so on. Even with an older InDesign Version, this happens. I dont have a font manager installed to my mac, all my fonts get copied into the 'fonts' folder in my library. 

 

Has everyone ever had the same problem? I need help 😞

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing some more information like:
1. Version of OS and InDesign.
2. Is it happening with a specific file/font or with all the files/fonts?
3. Do you save files locally or on a network?
4. Have you tried resetting preferences? (If not, please try doing that. You may follow the steps provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/setting-preferences.html)

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

All this information will help us understand the issue and work accordingly. Looking forward to your response.
