Font selection missing from toolbar in InDesign 14.0.3

Hi, I just updated InDesign to v 14.0.3, and now my fonts are missing from the toolbar. When I click the font dropdown from the toolbar, all that appears is [None]. Not even default fonts show up here. However, when I go to Type>Font, I can see all the fonts that used to appear on the dropdown prior to the update. How can I get fonts to populate in the toolbar dropdown?

Thanks!

Hi Erin,

Thanks for reaching out. This is unusual, could you please try resetting preferences for InDesign by following the steps below:

For Windows

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to Locations :
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.
  •  Rename InDesign folders to InDesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from CC.

For MAC

  • Close all adobe applications
  • Go to Locations:
  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Preferences
  • Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.indesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from the CC

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.

Let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.

Regards

Rishabh
