Fonts Not Loading in InDesign After Updating Extensis Connect

I am having this problem with a time-sensitive project. I updated Connect, and now only some fonts are loading. Even when "permanently on" a font I need is not loading in InDesign. Is there a solution?

Year after year, the use of Font Management software always seems to mess up the user rather than streamline the work. I don't use any of them anymore. Every patch of OS or Adobe app or the FontMgtSoftware seems to break something.

Suppose you didn't use it. Then you would be left with 3 places to check for conflicting use of fonts:

1. Adobe fonts

2. Fonts installed by your operating system

3. The sub-folder consistently named "Document fonts"

Commonly, if the same font shows up in 2 or more of these places, the application gets confused.

If you must use a FM software, you can still check on these three other places and make sure you do not have a duplication of a font trying to load.

I think someone recently corrected me, that on a Mac - there is a 4th location?

Like this?

  • User-installed fonts:
These fonts are accessible to all users on the Mac and are located in the /Library/Fonts folder.

  • System fonts:
These fonts are essential for the macOS operating system and are located in the /System/Library/Fonts folder.
