Fonts to Outlines | Moving Text

Our team just updated to the new 2019  InDesign CC version.

We create outlines with our fonts before sending to production.

Now when we do this, items that contain tabs are shifting, almost eliminating the tab?

Anyone know how to fix this?

We do it right before sending files to print and don't save.

Our print houses don't have time to install 9000 fonts when producing graphics.

I didn't pick the practice... But I need the program to work.

If you must outline fonts, use the Acrobat method described here. Much safer:

Well, if you're going to export to PDF (which is what everyone should be doing at this point) there should be no reason to outline the fonts.

FWIW, I'd be looking for a new printer if this is their requirment. This one is either too lazy to bother with installing fonts (which should work fine from a documents fonts folder) or so far behind the times they can't RIP a file with fonts in them.

Why are you converting font to outlines, it is an obsolete practice with a number of disadvantages?

Known issue. And for the love god, stop outlining fonts as a matter of course. It's a horrible workflow.
