Correct answer Mohammad Modassir

Ok, so this is the Layout of footnotedocument options:

And when i click under fotnote paragraph, it shows only this:

I don't know what happened, but it seems to work now.  Maybe it is because i selected the "English" instead of the default "arabic" i think yes. Thanks!

I can see that all your text is in Latin, you need to change Paragraph Direction for your main article to Left-to-Right as such the Foot note will follow same paragraph direction.

Now although text alignment has nothing to do with your question, yet I circled in red both Paragraph directions and text alignment because you have to attend to them eventually when you fix Paragraph direction.

When i place the footnotes, it shows up on the right wrong side. I want it on the left side, but how? This is a english-arabic version.

Would appreciate help. Kind, Modassir

Hi Modassir,

I don't know what the default is for the Arabic version.

But check to see if you can change the placement of the line in Type > Document Footnote Options > Layout

And in Type > Document Footnote Options > Numbering and Formatting, check to see what Paragraph Style you have assigned to footnotes. Then check the formatting for that style. Maybe you need to change the language or the alignment or something else in that style definition?

Hi Mohammad,

what kind of paragraph composer do you use for the text of the footnotes?
I suggest not to use the global one.

Uwe
