Question

Forms and signature from InDesign to iPad

Hi all

I need to create a document or other which contains some forms and a signature space to be filled in on iPad.

On what format should I bet?

Is it possible to create a signature field where the user can sign with a capacitive pen without the need for certification?

Thanks to those who want / can answer

Christophe

I think I'll export in html5 to be sure it'll work...

Thanks

Thank you all for the answers
I did not specifically ask for information on the pdf format but I asked what format do you think it's better to export from indesign to get documents with fillable forms and a space to sign with a capacitive pen.

That would be PDF but again, on mobile devices, it’s a crapshoot.

Probably will work if you stick to Acrobat on both desktop/laptop and iPad. Adobe optimizes that.

Don't expect it to work with other PDF readers.

Interactive PDF (which I assume you're asking about) is nothing short of a crapshoot on mobile devices.

Another excellent source of information is Chad Chelius' Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning video, "Acrobat DC: Using the Document Cloud Features"

You can get free access for I think 10 days if you want to view the video.

This really isn't an InDesign question: You should be asking in the Adobe Acrobat forums.

I would suggest these two forums:

PDF forms

Security & digital signatures

Adobe has more than one solution for handling forms and signatures and you'll probably get a deeper answer in those locations.
