Frame inbetween ellipse and rectangle with rounded corners

I have created a family tree in InDesign and I would like the frame for the photos to be something inbetween the available ellipse and the rectangle with a maximum rounded corners. Is there a way to create this?
Below is an exampel showing the photos with an ellipse and a rounded rectangle frame, respectively.

Hi Chris:

 

I traced the shape for you using the Pen tool in InDesign and attached it to this post. I would use the Basic feather for the edge effect (this is a compressed video so the feather looks banded, it will look fine in your document with a high-res image):

      Sure. Just extend the rounded corners value until it goes semi-circle at the top and bottom of the frames to create your "capsule" frame, then feather the edges to finalize the effect. Though you might find it easier to build the "capsule" frame as a path in Illustrator and then import it into Photoshop, because that would give you more control over the vignette effect.

        I'm not entirely sure what settings I need to use in feather in order to reach the desired effet. I realise that it might have been a bit confusing that I had the setting "inner glow effect". Here I show the rounded corner rectangle (without inner glow effect) without and with feathering, but it does not give me the shape I am looking for (I attach an example of what I look for - created in powerpoint where this is super simple to do).

        I'm afraid I have never used Illustrator (have chosen to focus on inDesign and Photoshop) and would prefer to use the InDesign frame tool as I am applying this fram to quite a number of photos.
