front matter frames epub

All front matter items (title page, copyright, dedication) are in their own seperate frames - not linked.

Should these individual frames be given their own object style?

Also to ensure they start on seperate page, is it better to go into object export options-->insert page break-->before

Oh yes you're right, I missed the epub thing, thinking it was for print.

I would therefore add all pages linked, no folios, all text styled, no folios, all images anchored and understand that any content you put on Parent pages is not included. Also, you may need to open the epub subsequently to finetune the CSS.

All content in a reflowable EPUB must be in a single text flow, or in elements (graphic or text frames) anchored to the appropriate point within that text flow. Very little else is needed although Object Styles can pass some format information, and those names give a hook to attach CSS that can be more effective in shaping such elements. (Usually div.TextBox in format.)

Here's a comprehensive take on how to do proper — formal/traditional — front matter in EPUBs:

It's probably best to use a Primary Text Frame for the whole document. Although most of this kind of front matter won't change, a Table of Contents for example might require more than one page as a book develops.

You can set Chapter breaks in the Paragraph Styles.
