I  would like to write the caption below each image i add to my Indesign document.

I could not find a way to generate a text place linked to the image in the same doc.

Is that possible ?

Thanks

Please delete post.

I found how to get static caption below image. Waiting for line break in live caption.

InDesign's caption feature only works, with minor exceptions, by pulling metadata from the image. (I've always been sure that fully structured shops like magazines and catalogs love this; it's an all but useless non-feature for the rest of us.)

However, all of ID's auto-text features (caption, headers, cross references) have the persisting flaw that no line breaks are allowed. If it doesn't fit in one line, across the space allotted, it's just a mess. No, there is no fix.
