Question

Getting the blue circle as if exporting to PDF but I'm just working

Uupdated ID this morning. Now I get the blue spinning circle as if exporting to PDF. I can open/close/edit InDesign files occasionally. Other times I have to force quite. Even after quitting ID and restarting computer, I get the spinner. See attached video. I'll probably delete app and install but was curious if this is a bug or something on my end.

Hi @Mr. Met:

Where do I find my prefs from version 2024?

This post shows where all the files are stored and explains how to copy them to the next version. I'm not a fan of importing preferences and I prefer to do it manually.

I ended up reinstalling app and erasing all prefs which was a drag. But I'm operational. Thanks.

Hello,

a possible bug or corrupt cache after the update. Try:

Reset InDesign prefs (hold Shift+Ctrl+Opt+Cmd on launch)

Delete recovery files: ~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/...

Disable GPU in Preferences

Remove plugins, test clean

Reinstall with Creative Cloud Cleaner if needed

Best Regard,

brian

Seems to be specific to one file. Still testing.

It bascially means InDesign is busy with something in the background. Was this document saved to the cloud? Was it shared? Are any linked graphics stored online or network server?

What is your exact InDesign version and OS version?
