Glitch-y window resizes

Over the last year or so my InDesign window goes really glitchy when I resize it (I have application frame disabled)... and more recently, when I try to resize it from the bottom-right corner, the window ONLY gets smaller, even if Im trying to make it bigger... no matter what direction i drag in.

I'm using a 2018 Mac Mini with Monterey

Does anyone else get this?

I can tell, from some problems I had with Illustrator, that Adobe probably don't bother to test their software with the application frame disabled

This sort of ideology is not a good road to go down. It's thoroughly tested and if it was a major issue the forums would be flooded with issues.

You're is particular to you and your setup and your applications that you have installed.

I have antivirus and each day I need to change a setting in the antivirus otherwise I cannot use the modifier keys in InDesign - it's related to the AV and not to InDesign.

Your issue could be similar.

You can start in Safe Mode and see if the issue persists.

If it doesn't then you know it's a 3rd party app.

If you restart and open InDesign again - then try quitting backround processes one at a time to narrow it down.

Another thing it might be is some preference files corrupted - and usually resetting prefs works but when it doesn't it could be something a bit more

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

As you're having issues with all your apps - it's either a bad installation or a 3rd party app.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes resetting your preferences helps with this type of issues.

The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select ‘Yes’ on this dialog.

Thanks: Yep tried that, no luck unfortunately

I can see this just being one of those lifelong problems that never gets fixed, like the way sometimes the panels dont open properly (I've had that in a number of different Macs / workplaces)
