Im having trouble with the GPU preview.

Here is a some large type with GPU turned on, and then the same in CPU preview.

Anyone else having the same issue?

This is not really all that unusual for GPU Performance. It has been a feature that has worked erratically for many since it was introduced. It seems to depend on the perfect combination of video card, processor and the correct phase of the moon to function correctly. Poor Display Performance is a very common complaint with it. You can either look into changing your video card or turning it off in InDesign's preferences.

On my personal laptop, a 2013 MacBook Pro with retina display, gpu performance has been great, luckily I've never had any of these issues.

My problem is the fact that you still require a Retina display for it to work, I have a Mac Pro with dual AMD FirePro D300 gpus but two Dell 2560x1440 displays (not retina) so gpu performance is not available.

I don't understand why the type of display you have dictates if a feature works or not if the rest of your setup supports it. If it doesn't work, we could disable it, but we have no option.

Sorry to hijack a thread, its a rant I have every few months for a feature that's been available/unavailable for years. Grrrrrr.
