I'm trying to find the text in any paragraph where the same character style is applied to the entire paragraph. So I specify the Character style ("Bold") in the Find dialog. And search for ^.+$
What it's grabbing is entire paragraph if Bold is applied to the first character. So it looks like the .+ is ignoring the character styling.
Can someone educate me please?
Maybe the demo was confusing? At the beginning, I am pointing out that I have manually applied the bold character style to a few words at the beginning of paras four and five, because I thought that was that area of concern: "What it's grabbing is entire paragraph if Bold is applied to the first character. "
When I run the Find/Change, starting at the top, it only matches paras two and five. It skips paras one, three, four and five.

Well, I'm getting a different result... it's as if the search string were only ^.+ without the $ at the end.
I'm using an antique version (CS6) of InDesign, so maybe this is an old bug that has since been fixed. Unfortinately, an upgrade is not possible because our third-party vendor does not support it.
