Grep up to a character

Hi,

I want to apply a character style using grep, up to the first comma but not including the comma.

characters, 37, 42

If you use a nested style for this purpose, InDesign will work faster and format the same.

How do you bold up to a comma with a nested style?

You will be able to set it in the Drop Caps & Nested Styles like so:

^[^,]+
