Gridlines appeared and I can't get rid of them. How do I remove them?

I have attached a photo of what I am seeing.  I was working on my document and I pressed something on accident I presume and these white gridlines appeared and I am curious as to how I can get them to disappear please!

That's the Document Grid - the keystroke you whacked on accident was ctrl+' which will also turn it off. Alternately you can find it in View -> Grids and Guides -> Hide Document Grid.
