HELP! Can't replace a shared document in my Adobe cloud.

Every year I design an interactive directory in InDesign and then I upload it to my cloud and share the link. Never had a problem before. We do it this way because I could make edits throughout the year and replace the document, while keeping the same link. This year when I click on the replace button, the document to replace doesn't show up in the dropdown. I know that the document is there because I can see it when I go to the cloud. But it won't let me replace it because it doesn't show up in the dropdown. I need the link to stay the same because we've already shared it. Also, I've done this before, so I know it's possible.

I also tried to edit the pdf within the cloud, but it seems that that's not allowed once it's shared, as that option is not there. It is there on documents that haven't been shared.

I really need help because we've shared the link and we'll look very unprofessional if we have to send out a new link!!!!

Hi there,

Sorry for the delayed response & trouble you are facing. I assume you are talking about updating the existing Document option.

  • Have you tried logging out and logging in from the Indesign > Help menu?
  • Are you using a business or a personal Adobe Account?
  • Could you please check and confirm if this is happening with this particular document or all (new & old).
  • OS & version of InDesign

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
