Hi there, I'm going crazy!!!!

Working on new Studio mac and MacBook pro with M1 (Apple Silicon), OS Monterery 12.5, InDesign and Photoshop 2022 latest Version. In delivered files I have to save jpgs to tif, working on a synplogy network server raid. When I select the saved tif file to replace the jpg the link window right away gets the yellow mark and I have to update it, but nobody changed it?? Same see the screenshot with the marked .ai file: nobody opend it or saved it but somehow InDesign changes the date and time??? The physical file (.ai) on our server is changes to the time I imported another file of this page???

Anybody has an idea whats happening??? How comes InDesign is changing time of files??

I would definitely reach out to Apple support with your specific issues regarding date and time. It may be the newer Macs have an issues with your synology setup.

Hello,

Do you have any feedback on this issue? I'm currently on Mac OS Sonoma under Apple Silicon and having the same trouble on InDesign 2022. It happens only when linked files are access to the server throught AFP protocol. It never happens with SMB. It could happens when saving indd (a few files , 5 on 350) but also simply after closing the indd files and disconnecting the server. Then, on the next opening of the indd (by AFP connexion) it claims 60 to 80 files must be relinked ...

This kind of thing can happen when exporting to a network server simply because the time that your Mac is set to (for most of us it is automatically set through the internet) may vary even by a fraction of a minute from the internal clock of the server. When files go back and forth from the local drive to the server the yellow triangle will pop up.

Hi Bill, thanks for your input. Checking the time on all clients and Server was the first thing we checked and changed all client times to the router IP, so every client gets exctly the same time from the router... the server machine macpro 2021 has the same time but a different last IP adress... older machines in our network MacPro 2014, iMac 27 (all Intel based chip) don't have these problems...

Its due to your server. Are you running backups or syncing on the server?

Officially Adobe does not support working directly across network or external drives.

Drag your files locally and see if the issue occurs.

Hi Kevin,

yes we are running tape backup via archiware, and special volumes additional with CCC to external disk.

We are working since 25 years with Adobe products and network to raid disk, but we never ever had such problems... Anyway, working on the local disk seems to work, but is noch an option for our buisness as more the one person is working on the same jobs... when I work locally on my MacBook Pro M1 Max, now I cannot update files anymore?

Crazy things!! All our older models MacPro 2014, iMacs 27 don't have these crazy problems working on external raid to network smae App InDesign 21...??
