Help; Text jumping to next page after pressing enter?

Subject title describes my problem.

I'm currently working on a final, that being working 3-4 short stories into InDesign and printing it out to create a physical book. In my current InDesign file, I usually press enter to create a new paragraph (in this specific case to indicate when a different character is speaking), but every time I do so the text jumps to the next page? I checked in a different file that I had and the page-jumping doesn't happen. Could it be because of something I had done in my paragraph styles? I'm also including my InDesign file so someone could get more hands-on with helping.

I need help with this as soon as possible.

You have the paragraph style set to keep all lines of a paragraph together

When you turn this off the lines snap back.

Hi! I looked into this and in my case, I do not have this toggled on and am still having this issue. Can you think of any reason that may be?

I think I figured it out. I had to unlink my pages so I could have the proper indents for dialogue. It may not be the best solution that I know of, but it works for me.

Well, if this happens again in the future, I think Eugene Tyson is on the right track that it looks like a side effect of the way Keep Options is set up for a paragraph style, probably Keep Lines Together.

It’s important to understand the root causes so that workarounds aren’t needed, because having to do workarounds like unlinking frames might make other features less useful than they’re supposed to be.

You need to press Return, not Enter. Enter moves text to the next frame.

EDIT: It's possible that there are other reasons for what you experience as well, I'm sure others will chime in soon.

I should note that the keyboard I have does not have a numpad on it, so I've been calling the "return" key an enter key. Anyway, that doesn't solve my issue. Other files my return key works just fine, but this specific file I'm working on has the return key shift the text to the next page. I might just call it a night and work on it tomorrow
