Help with bleed issue please

I have a brochure set to a .125 px bleed.

I have my backgrounds expanded past the bleed area.

I export to press quality.

I choose use doc bleed settings and trim marks.

When exported and opened back up in Adobe Pro, NO BLEED BACKGROUNDS ARE SHOWING!!!

You're working in pixels. There is essentially no such thing as a 1/8-pixel element.

 

Don't work in pixel mode in InDesign. It's a very poor tool for things like web banners and the like. And since you're working for print... it's completely the wrong measurement system. Switch to inches or millimeters (or the pro choice, pica/points).

Why did you design in pixels? Do you need bleed for a pixel based doc? (I'm thinking screen intended viewing.)

Stop and think about how much area is .125 pixels. It's a non real number; less than one pixel. ID should have alerted and not even exported imo.

      That did it! I adjusted everything to inches, readjusted all the background color rectangles and resaved it. Now I am getting the marks I expected to see. I think when I started this project, I just opened it and started designing and never really set it up well. Thank you!
