Hide page feature - factor in page number change on export

Hi,

The hide page feature that's been added to the latest Indesign versions is great. Problem Im having is this isn't factoring in the page number change when exporting to a PDF. Am I missing something, is there a way for indesign to calculate this when exporting?

It's use in large documents with page numbers makes it a bit redundant as at some point I will have to delete pages in the file regardless when supplying to a client.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom:

No, you aren't missing anything. This is a first release of the feature. Page numbers, footnote numbers, endnote numbers and auto-numbers don't update to reflect the missing pages. Yet.

There's a standing discussion on the Hide Spreads feature, in that it's fundamentally useful but a bit 'undercooked' in this release. Adding things like page numbering adjustment, page count adjustment, and better 'flagging' of hidden pages has been discussed.
