Hi I am having an issue when exporting print ready pdfs from Indesign. I am exporting my files as "High Quality Print" at 300dpi, but when I drag my PDF into Photoshop to check the file, my files are showing up as 150dpi. I feel like I have tried all the suggestions I can find online but nothing has seemed to fix the problem, any help would be much appreciated.

  1. If you want to create PDFs for the printer, export as one of the PDF/X standards, best PDF/X-4.
  2. Resolution of image files is meassured in PPI, not DPI.
  3. Photoshop is never and not an appropriate tool to check PDF files. To check PDF files use Adobe Acrobat Pro, use the tools in the Print Production Section. There are several possiblities in the Preflight Tool.
  4. Vectors in the PDF do not have any resolution, but those wil be rasterized in Photoshop.
  5. Images can have different color profiles, in Photoshop is only one profile possible. So you cannot check it.

Use Adobe Acrobat Pro to check your files, not Photoshop, not Illustrator.
