high resolution images looking pixilated when published

Regardless of how high the resolution of the image (300 dpi and higher), I keep getting a pixilated image when I publish the document on line.  I have tried resaving the PSD file with different names, different extensions (PSD, TIFF, etc) and I am having this issue with one image.  I have even used a different image and for some reason, this one image, regardless of what version it is and how high the DPI, it is always pixilated when published on line. Can anyone help?

I don't use Publish Online so I have to rely on more general experience with digital documentation —

  • Are your image Placed in the ID document, not cut-and-pasted? That is, are they linked to the source files?
  • Have you checked the PO export options to make sure the resolution isn't set to something very low?

thank you!  They are "linked" and I checked that the export options are set to the highest option.  This really is peculiar that regardless of the image format extension or any replacement image, it still appears pixilated.  (I uploaded visuals to show what I am seeing)

What are you viewing the results in/on? Do the images still look pixelated on another browser/system?

  1. The version of InDesign you are currently using.
  2. The details of your operating system.
  3. Is this issue specific to this particular file or happening with others as well?
  4. Was it always like this for this document, or was it working fine before?

If possible, could you share the respective packaged InDesign file for us to test? You can follow this guide on creating assignment packages: How to Package Files in InDesign.

  1. The version of InDesign you are currently using = 20.0.1
  2. The details of your operating system. = MAC Sequoia Version 15.1.1
  3. Is this issue specific to this particular file or happening with others as well? = only happening to 1 image, regardless to my replacing this image with a totally new file with a different name and different format.
  4. Was it always like this for this document, or was it working fine before? = it has been like this for several days. ( I didn't notice this before so not sure how long this was happening). I appreciate the directions for packaging and I am following up with my boss for persmission to send the file out.  Thank you in advance!
