Question

How can I clear previous Generative Expand variations?

This worked great for my first 2 photos. Now when I try to use it for a competely new photo, it keeps suggesting the two variations from the previous photos, but absolutely nothing for the new one. How can I clear them?

I assume this is happening within one document? It's a complete wild shot, but try the doc purge — save it as IDML, open that, save it as INDD under a new name. That might clear the 'stuck' linkage.

If not, try the operation in a new doc, just to see if it's still caught on the same image version. In that case, you may need to reset your preferences and/or cache.

Procedures for that vary a little; see here.

Thank you very much! I'll try that today and let you know!

I never did reset my preferences, but happily, the problem seems to have resolved on its own. I do find it strange that previous generative images are also available under the current generative images. I would have expected them to go away, especially since they are from previous documents. Oh well! As long as I can generate NEW images it doesn't hurt anything.

Even with its quirks, I really LOVE this new feature!
