How can I determine which defined text variable had been inserted?

In Microsoft Word, pressing Shift+F9 allows me to see the field code of a field. Is there something similar in Indesign that would allow me to see which text variable had been inserted? For example, I define two text variables called "Document Title" and "Product Name", both with the value "Apple iPhone". After inserting the variable "Document Title", the words "Apple iPhone" appear in the document (with a box around them in preview mode). How can I tell that this variable is in fact "Document Title" and not "Product Name"?

(note: this is just a simplified example...)

You will love Marc Autret's "InstantVariable" script: http://www.indiscripts.com/post/2019/08/instantvariable-edit-quickly-your-indesign-variables

The Edit prompt that pops up shows you the name of the variable, and you can change its value or just cancel to leave it at that.
