How do I add page numbers using Arabic-Indic numerals (١، ٢، ٣، ٤، ٥)? I really can't find a tutorial for this. 😩

I have a project to create a book, but the page numbers need to use Arabic-Indic numerals (١، ٢، ٣، ٤، ٥). I’ve looked for tutorials online, but I haven’t found anything that answers my question. :(

You need to install the Middle-East version to expose those digits. Then follow the instructions in the pages that @Abhishek Rao posted the links for.

But sorry, why is there no "digits" dropdown in the Character panel in my InDesign?

Do I need to install something? Or is it a version issue? (I'm using version 21.4.1).

That looks like you have the English version installed. If you open up your Creative Cloud app and go to your Preferences, there’s a section for”Default Install Language. You probably have it set to English (North America) right now. Select English اللغة العربية and click Done. Now, if you go back to your Apps section, there should be a new “Update” or “Install” button for InDesign. If you click that, additional files will be installed that will update your version of InDesign to have the right-to-left text controls that you see in Abhishek’s links.
