How do I create a new document without the rulers being visible?

Hello everyone -

I have been wondering for a long time how I can create a new document in InDesign without automatically seeing the rulers. The first thing I always do is press "Command + R" to hide the rulers because I don't use them for 99% of my designs.

I've searched the web, search engines, and YouTube but haven't found anything.

Does anyone know how to avoid this step?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Correct answer Derek Cross

With no document open, go to  View > Hide Rulers, then close and reopen the application. When you create a new document the rulers should not be now be showing.

Hi @HJL2023 ,

that's an easy one. When no document is open in your German InDesign go to:

Ansicht > Lineale ausblenden

It's a toggle command. Lineale einblenden/Lineale ausblenden, with a keyboard shortcut:

Cmd + R (German macOS) or STRG + R (German Windows).
