How do I create tooltips in Indesign?

Hi there,I am currently completing a brief for an interactive/accessible pdf which I'm building in Indesign. I have been asked to have a set of tabs down the side of each page which will act as a navigation panel between document sections. I have set up these tabs on the Parent Page. I tried to use buttons but when you output the interactive pdf the 'Go to Page' function doesn't work. So instead, I used hyperlinks. The only problem is, I also need tooltips which will have the description of each section as you hover over the tab. Unless I have a button, I can't seem to get the tooltips to work, but if I have a button underneath or over the top of the hyperlink, it won't work. Any suggestions on how to have both tooltips and hyperlinks together or how to set up the document so I can have both of these features would be most appreciated!!

It's best to keep to the simplest of hyperlinks in an Interactive PDF. Alternatively consider another format based on HTML5, such as FXL ePub, InDesign's Publish Online feature or the InDesign plug-in in5 (at extra cost).

When you exported the document as an interactive pdf with buttons what pdf reader did you view the pdf on. Interactive pdfs are only guaranteed to function correctly with Acrobat 9 or above. Anything else may or may not display your intended result correctly. Hyperlinks on the other hand can be viewed on more pdf readers but don't have all of the features that buttons have. Derek's advice to use HTML or In5 or Publish Online will give much better, reliable results.
