Question

How do I embed fonts when creating Interactive epub file

I am creating an interactive InDesign document. I am trying to save it out.

I have used the "Publish Online" option and it looks ok.

When I export it as a EPUB Fixed Layout the file looks great, to me but not to my client.
The fonts are jacked up on the client's end. I am using Trade Gothic LT (the client's corporate font).

Are there other ways to export the file for my client? How can I embed the fonts?

Any EPUB reader beyond Books on Mac or iOS is going to be troublesome, unfortunately.

While embedding is possible, your client may not have a license to use the font in ebooks. The font needs to be licensed in such a way as to not just allow use, but also distribution.

For example, here is Linotype's licensing page for Trade Gothic LT.

https://www.fonts.com/font/linotype/trade-gothic-lt/licenses

And what reader is your client using? Some epub readers will not understand embedded fonts, or at least, obfuscated/encrypted ones.
