How do I find a missing font when exporting a book to EPUB?

Hi everyone,

I'm doing this for the first time, so please excuse if this is an obvious question. Trying to export a 60-file book to EPUB, and I'm getting a missing font error: Minion Pro. I didn't even use this font in my layout, so I know it must be something coming over from one of the Word files I imported, and it's lurking in some random empty paragraph style somewhere. There is another one in there, Dubai font, which I replaced in all instances (it was my Heading 1, but I replaced it with Museo Sans) so I don't know why it is still in there. Both of these I need to ferret out. I can't seem to make Find/Replace work at the book level. I can't open the EPUB that was generated in Kindle because of the error. Can anyone help? I'm using InDesign on Windows, v. 20.4.1.

I did have to do that, file by file, for 60+ files. I was hoping to do it from the book level but it's not possible. So I had to do it the old-fashioned way, one by one. InDesign's Find/Replace feature is very robust but it can't work on the book level, unfortunately.

Hi GB,

Maybe before you export an EPUB, you could click on Type > Find/Replace Font and allow this dialog box to transport you around the document to wherever those missing bits might be hiding. Clean them up. Then save-as and try your export again.
