I am doing CJK typesetting in InDesign and I can't figure out how to do double wide notes on one line like this (see photo). It's a standard way to add notes into a text. Is there a way to do this in ID?

You're looking for warichu. You can find instructions on how to use it in InDesign here, although I'm not sure how accessible warichu are if you're using InDesign with an English interface. The last time I checked (some time ago) I needed to write some short scripts (or use a third-party plugin) to access things like warichu or furigana in my install of InDesign, which has an English UI.

If you change the region code in the InDesign 2021 > Presets > applicationpreferences > indesign > applicationpreferens.plist file to 257, it assigns you to the Japanese region and allows you to use that functionality with an English interface, see more here: https://ken-lunde.medium.com/adobe-indesign-tips-japanese-cjk-functionality-english-ui-redux-539528e295c6

That is much, much easier than it used to be! As I'm on Windows, it's not hard for me to edit the registry and switch between CJK and RTL toolsets.
