How do you set up header/footer for inDesign doc

I'm new to InDesign and the instructions I read say to open an Output setup pod--can't find anything with that title. Please help.

Hi,

Write the header/footer text in a text frame on a master page. All document pages based on that master page will have that text frame.

Or do you wish to set up header footer rows in a table?
