How to add elements to existing interactive button

Hello everyone!

I have an interactive button (Button A) that appears/disappears with the click of a separate button (Button B). Button A is made up of several rectangles that are grouped and then made into a button. The document will be updated several times, so I would like to be able to add rectangles to Button A without having to redo the "button-ing" process, but I haven't figured out how to do it. Is it possible?

Thank you!

If the button is a group, try dragging the new items into it using the layers panel.

Hi @KajN,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand how important it is to update your interactive elements efficiently, especially when working on evolving documents.

To help you better, could you please share a bit more detail? Are you trying to add new rectangles to the existing button without losing the interactions you've already set up? A screen recording showing the whole workflow would be helpful.

Also, which version of InDesign are you currently using?

Leaving the discussion open for our respected community experts to share their insights as well.

Looking forward to your response!

Thank you,
