How to Add pages

I'm having a problem with adding 2 pages to a book I am formatting. When I go to Layout>Pages>Insert 2 pages after page 107, it adds the 2 pages to the 2 pages above, making a 4 page spread. Allow pages & spreads to shuffle is turned on. I tried adding 1 page at a time, but they come in as single pages, not facing pages. Have tried turning off, still doesn't work.noticed that most nades in the document annear as spreads. but the last few pages show up as single. I have done many books in InDesign and never had this issue. I would so appreciate an answer, so I don't have to start over. I am using InDesign 19.0.1 on a Mac computer. Thanks! -Nancv

I know you said "Allow pages & spreads to shuffle is turned on" but if Steve's suggestion doesn't pan out, be sure to seleect all the pages in the Pages panel (click the page 1 icon and shift+click the last page icon) and double check. They can be on for some and off for others.

If it's only happening in this one file, it could have accumulated some corruption. Try saving it as an IDML file: File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or Later [IDML]. Open the IDML file in InDesign and see if the same behavior is fixed.
