How to align the footnote separator to the baseline grid without aligning the footnotes to baseline grid?

Hello, I’d love to have the separator line align to the grid but when I apply the first line to the grid it creates this random spaces between footnotes like between footnote 5 and 6. is there a way to align the separator to the grid but always have the footnotes with no space between them as 7 & 8?

To get the separator rule on the baseline grid, you’d have to move the notes up. Your screenshot seems to suggest that. But then your pages aren’t equally deep. That’s pretty unusual. Is that really what you want?

Anyway, you’d need a script to calculate the amount by which to reduce the height of the text frame (the only way to move notes up), and that’s not easy.
