How to Apply Document Presets in InDesign?

Hello,

I created in InDesign. When I am in a document click on ducument presets, I see the presets as an option that I can use on a new document. I have some documents that were created without the preset, and I would like to apply the preset to these documents. Is that possible? When I open the document and go to File -> Document Presets whether I choose Define or select the desired preset, it just starts a new blank document whne I click OK. If I click Save it wants to save a new preset, but still does not apply that ti the existing document. Is there a way to a pply a preset to a document after the document was created without it/

Thanks in advance!

Hi @JC2019 , There’s Edit > Document Setup... which lets you change the active document’s default Page Size, Margins, and Bleeds. The Document Setup dialog doesn’t include a list of presets to apply—you would have to make the changes manually— but that could be scripted.

Also, Page Size and Margins are page properties—a document’s pages can be different sizes and margins.

No, doc presets are for initial creation of a document only. They don't really 'exist' except as a collection of settings. (That is, they're not an actual document, or template you can apply later.)

Just delete your new doc and open a new one using the preset you want.
