How to apply page numbers above an image in InDesign?

How do you give the page number above the photo? In InDesign

Cause the page number is hidden under the catalog pictures

Correct answer Frans v.d. Geest

Create a new Layer, keep that layer on top and place the Master page item (but only those) on that top layer. Use other layers for the elements on your document pages.

do I have to make tha new layer on the Master page?
