How to Create an Accessible Ramadan Timetable PDF in Adobe Acrobat?

Hey everyone,

With Ramadan coming up, I’m looking to create a clear and accessible Ramadan timetable PDF for prayer and fasting times. Since many people rely on these schedules, I want to make sure it’s easy to read and works well with assistive technologies.

Does anyone have tips on:
✔️ Best fonts and layout for readability
✔️ Tagging tables for screen readers
✔️ Handling Arabic text and multilingual content
✔️ Keeping the PDF high quality without losing clarity

I also found a useful Ramadan timing resource here  and thought it might help others too.

Would love to hear any advice from the community on making this as user-friendly as possible! Thanks!

Hello!

I hope you are doing well.

As correctly shared by our community product expert, you can use InDesign to create/design files to create an accessible timetable for Ramadan.

You can try the following steps in Acrobat, and see if this serves your purpose:

Design for Readability:

Tagging Tables: To tag tables properly for screen readers, go to Tools > Accessibility > Add Tags to Document. Creating accessible PDFs in Adobe Acrobat

Use the Reading Order tool to ensure the table structure is correctly tagged.

Handling Multilingual Content:

  • For Arabic text, ensure the correct language setting. Go to File > Properties > Advanced and set the document language to Arabic.

Optimize for Assistive Technologies: Use the Accessibility Check tool to identify and fix issues. Go to Tools > Accessibility > Full Check.

Maintain High Quality: To ensure clarity, save the PDF as a high-quality print PDF. Go to File > Save As Other > Press Quality PDF.

I hope this helps.

I will move the conversation to the Design community so that the experts can add more details.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Acrobat is not used to design files. This is really more of a question for the InDesign forum, if you have that application.
