Is it possible to export gifs directly from InDesign?

I just use Photoshop (with the Timeline panel).

As noted, no.

 

But consider that GIFs are an almost wholly obsolete and generally inferior file format for anything but small animations. Optimized JPG will do everything except transparency, and PNG will do transparency and lossless compression. You might consider revamping your needs/workflow.

Thank you for reaching out with your query! Currently, InDesign doesn't support exporting GIFs directly. However, you can export your InDesign project as an EPUB or a PDF, then use Adobe Photoshop or another tool to create a GIF from your exported content.
