How to Fix Table Strokes Not Showing in InDesign

Hello Adobe Community,

I have a reoccuring issue on InDesign when using tables. If I set the line colours to 'none', obviously the lines change to white and don't show up. However, when I try to undo this and set them to black, they still don't show up. Any tips?

I am doing this by going into:

Cell Options > Strikes and Fills > Colour

It shows that the colour is set to black but this does not show up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In my case above:
I think the top stroke of 0.5pt was being cancelled out by the bottom stroke of 0pt.

Be sure to set the color and stroke type and stroke thickness. Not just color. Best done in a Cell Style, btw.

Am I missing something or is this some kind of bug/error?
