How to number raffle tickets in InDesign CC

I am trying to number raffle tickets on both ends. I need to number 500 of them. (001-500) I have a ganged sheet with 4 up and have to figure out how to place the numbers on them. HELP!! Thanks so much!

I prefer the simplicity of some javascript code lines! … I mean "1 click!".

There are others who can give you better instructions since I haven't done this but the standard way would be to set up the numbers in Excel and save as a CSV (comma-separated) or tab-delimited file. Then use Data Merge to merge them into your tickets.
