How to page number automatic or do I have to manually not working for InDesign imported PDF pages a master etc

Question

It's not working letting me page number automatically or do I manually page number for Adobe InDesign I put the master pages for my imported PDF this is a PDF I made in Adobe Acrobat and I took the page numbers off cuz I'm trying to give it to you for books it's single pages.
