Question

How to relink graphics automatically

Is there a way, say using AppleScript to trigger a series of actions, to automatic relink graphics in a layout file? We often transfer InDesign CS6 layout file, with all its graphics in a folder, from computer to computer and links are always broken because InDesign does not allow relative file path for graphic files.

We transfer InDesgin file (and its graphics) via a WMS system and routing these files are done NOT by a person, but a machine. It is the computer who is sending and receiving (not a person) and process InDesign files and no human involved here. Using package might be possible only if the machine knows how to handle the packages.

Hi,

Take a look to Kasyan Servetsky's web site [Scripts sorted by categories for InDesign]. "Link". Maybe!

A very clever scripter I like a lot!

Why don't you us the Package feature and transfer the Package. The ID file in the Package will link to the Links folder in the Package.
