How to Stop Automatic Style Overrides

Hi everyone,

Randomly, every new shape or line I create in my InDesign document began to have a gradient feather effect applied. The effect doesn't show up in the Effects panel, but in Object Styles I can see my objects are styled with [Basic Graphics Frame]+. If I clear overrides, the object will turn black and have no gradient feather.

How can I stop this automatic style override? It's getting pretty tedious clicking "Clear Overrides" every time I make a new shape.
