How to turn off InDesign's annoying blue "New features" bars

InDesign recently started reminding me about new features I might be interested in. But I'm not interested, so I just want to turn off the blue bars that cover the width of the program. They are for things like

  • Switching to Photoshop/Illustartor keyboard shortcuts,
  • Using endnotes
  • Using the paragraph border capability

Of course, now that I want to take a screenshot, I can't figure out what activates these blue bars. I wasn't able to find anything about it in the preferences.

If you restore your InDesign preferences, you'll see all the New Feature notifications all over again:

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

I don't think there's a way to turn them off altogether. But they should be sticky and once closed should not re-occur, unless you restore your preferences.

The bars appear because as long as you're signed into your Creative Cloud account—which for most of us is all of the time—you are connected to Adobe through the internet. As annoying as the popups are they do go away and don't actually last very long.
