How to use Find and Change on part of a document in CS6

In CS6, is it possible to use Find and Change on part of a document? We'd like to start it about halfway through a document and not use it on the first half.

If it's possible to search part of a document, how do we set that up. For example, we want to Find "DZ space" (character space) and Change it to "DZ Paragraph End".

We tried starting the Find/Change halfway through the document, but it went back to the first page to start the Find/Change.

Thanks.

We tried starting in the middle of the story, but it went back to the beginning of the story and started there.

Did we miss making a setting somewhere in the Find/Change box?

Thanks.

Am I missing something but why don't you select the test you want to search?

Find/Change will tend to search beginning wherever the Type tool is implanted. When it gets to the end of a document, it will move on to the beginning. You will be clicking on Find Next. You can limit a search to a story, if that helps.

It's a dictionary, from A to Z, one story. We'd like to Find/Change from the letter H in the middle of the document because we have already hand amended the first half (A-G) and don't want to change anything in the first half. We are hoping we can use Find/Change from H to Z.

As @Mike Witherell said, if you start in middle of a Story, you do have the option to search only to End of Story, so that may help you.
