HUGE problem with CC Libraries…

God knows why, in my InDesign 2021 (I have to use this to be "aligned" with others in my teamwork) when I try to import an item from the library an alert says that "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the ohter user closes it".

If I create a new library, add something to it and try to import the same element on my page it returns the same alert message.
The same library works perfectly on InDesign 2025 on the same computer (MacBook Pro M4 Max, Sequoia MacOs).
I've already rebooted CC app, log out&in again, looked for .idlk files, but no luck…
Is there anything I can do to restore the situation?
Thank you all!

Try these general troubleshooting steps:

https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-rebuilding-preferences-cache/

Also, keep in mind that InDesign 2021 was released several years before Sequoia, thus a potential incompatibility can be responsible for this issue (but might as well not).

Hello !
Just wanted to share that we have the same problem, here, with InDesign 2021 but on Windows 11.
The problem started in 2026. Worked perfectly before that.

Tried the linked troubleshooting steps to no avail.
This is creating quite some problem when working with colleagues.

The only workout we found, is to enter edit mode for each file in the library and copy/pasting those, which is not optimal.

Hope it helps find a fix faster !
